The Italian magistrates have rejected the extradition of the former DIICOT chief, Alina Bica, announces Antena3. It is the third refusal to extradite, according to the cited source.

The former DIICOT chief was definitively sentenced, in November 2019, to 4 years in prison with execution, in the case in which she is accused of favoring businessman Ovidiu Tender. Alina Bica, a fugitive from Romania, was placed under international investigation for the execution of the sentence, according to the procedure.

Prosecutors’ accusations against Alina Bica in the Tender case
According to DNA, during 2013, the businessman Ovidiu Tender requested the support of Alina Bica to obtain a conditional sentence in the RAFO case, pending before the Bucharest Court. Alina Bica asked her DIICOT subordinates to ask the court to sentence Tender to a suspended sentence, according to ADN prosecutors.
Thus, in the context in which, in the spring of 2013, Ovidiu Tender was tried in the “RAFO” case, investigated by DIICOT, in which the accusation was prepared by Bica, the businessman made available to him through of his lawyers, Ionuţ Florentin Mihăilescu, former judicial policeman and counselor of Alina Bica, documents related to the respective criminal case, in order to consult and issue an opinion, both from him and Bica, to have the possibility of a favorable solution .
