The Minister of Health, Nelu Tătaru, was urgently summoned to the Government by Prime Minister Ludovic Orban. Tataru must present, at 3:00 p.m., a message to the population that the health situation is serious and people must comply with the regulations imposed by the authorities to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Ludovic Orban asked the Minister of Health to present a message, in the context in which the number of new cases of COVID-19 reached 2,958. Nelu Tătaru initially wanted to make a statement when the psychological threshold of 3,000 new cases is reached in Romania, political sources told Digi24.ro.
In the last 24 hours, 2,958 new cases of COVID-19 have been registered, a new record for coronavirus infections since the start of the pandemic. The number of deaths has also increased. In one day, 82 people died of COVID.
To date, on October 7, in Romania, 142,570 cases of people infected by the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed, of which 111,564 patients have been declared cured.
