Prime Minister Ludovic Orban announces checks across the country to verify compliance with anti-Covid measures and claims that the number of cases has increased due to weddings and christenings where the rules were not followed.
“We have organized a videoconference with the country’s prefects and with emergency committees. The subject of this videoconference was the intensification of the authorities’ actions in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus. There is an evident tendency to increase the number of cases “. the county committees for emergency situations a much more serious involvement in the implementation of the legal measures adopted by the authorities; also an intensification of control actions and, last but not least, an intensification of communication with the public for compliance with health protection measures ”. Ludovic Orban said on Wednesday night, at the MIA headquarters, after the videoconference with the prefects and with the representatives of the institutions with responsibilities in the management of the epidemic.
The prime minister also claims that the authorities were unable to control the parties after the results of the local elections were announced and told the participants, regardless of which political party they belong to, to consider themselves “as if they were possibly infected” with the new coronavirus. .
Regarding the organization of the elections, we monitored that everything that the campaign activity involved, the electoral process on Election Day, was carried out according to the established rules and most of it was carried out. What we could not control, because we could not control, humanly, the parties that were organized after winning the elections, here I recommend to all those who participated in said parties, regardless of the political party they are, to consider themselves as if they were infected “Because at these parties, I saw some of them on television and online, the rules were not followed,” said the prime minister.
About the online delivery system and delayed purchase of tablets
Asked about the problems with online or hybrid education, Orban says that the government has allocated more than 150 million lei for the school, of which 100 million for tablets, which has increased the fiber optic network and the number of schools with internet access.
The prime minister blames the delays in school purchases, especially tablets, on companies that participated in the auctions, won them and then withdrew because they could not cover the offer.
“I ask local authorities and schools to buy tablets, because tablets are not given to families. They are delivered in the form of a loan. It is possible that in one locality the level of spread of the virus will decrease and then the tablets can be recovered and distributed in another locality where the number of infections increases and online education is necessary, ”says Ludovic Orban.
Thus, people who come from countries with a degree of contagion greater than Romania for only three days, will not be quarantined if they present a negative Covid test, no longer than 48 hours.
“If they want to stay more than 3 days, they will be quarantined for 14 days. If they do not want to be quarantined, a test will be carried out on the 5th day of quarantine, when they receive the result they will be able to come out of quarantine,” Orban said.
