Just a few hours ago, the OnePlus 8 series online launch event took place (consisting (as expected) of two devices: OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro respectively. Below we will detail the standard version, and present the Pro version in a separate article.

OnePlus 8 is not a smartphone that wants to impress in terms of design, even if it comes with something new compared to the OnePlus 7T, and here I would quickly highlight the bullet-shaped selfie camera placed on the left side, the screen with slightly edged curved and placement of the photo assembly on the reverse. The Chinese company did something simple, without taking too many risks (tried something with OnePlus 7T and it did not come out).

Full specifications for OnePlus 8:

  • 6.55-inch AMOLED fluid display with FullHD + resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels), 20: 9 aspect ratio, 402 ppi, 90HZ refresh rate, HDR10 + support, protected by curved 3D Corning Gorilla Glass;
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 octa-core processor developed at 7nm with 1 x 2.84 GHz Kryo 585 + 3 x 2.42 GHz Kryo 585 + 4 x 1.8 GHz Kryo 585 cores, Adreno 650 GPU, 8/12 GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128/256 space UFS 3.0 storage;
  • Android 10 with Oxygen OS 10.5 interface;
  • 5G SA + NSA, 4G, Wi-Fi a / b / g / n / ac / ax, dual band, direct Wi-Fi, DLNA, access point, bluetooth 5.1, A-GPS, dual band GPS (L1 + L5), GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, USB Type-C, NFC, on-screen fingerprint reader, face unlock, dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos technology;
  • 48 megapixel with Sony IMX586 sensor, f / 1.6, gyro-EIS + OIS, 0.8 micron + 16 pixel size Ultra 116-megapixel af / 2.2 + 2 megapixel macro, LED flash, shooting at 2160p at 30 or 60 fps , 1080p at 30/60/240 fps, 720p at 480 fps, 16 megapixel front camera with Sony IMX471 sensor, f / 2.45, 1 micron pixel size, EIS and 1080p recording at 30 fps;
  • 4300 mAh battery with fast charge Warp Charge 30T, 180 g of weight and dimensions: 160.2 × 72.9 × 8.0 mm.

OnePlus 8 comes with some consistent updates (processor, 5G connectivity, battery, aesthetics), but there are also areas where it seems to have taken a small step (the screen is almost the same, the selfie camera has been modified, the set of photos has received a 2 megapixel macro camera instead of the One Megapixel 7T telephoto lens, which will not be appreciated by everyone, lack of wireless charging, etc.).

Those interested in this device can buy it directly from the oneplus.com/en site at the following prices:

The available colors are Onyx Black, Glacial Green and Interstellar Glow, and using our reference link you will get a discount of 10 euros on the separate purchase of an accessory along with the phone.
