The pilgrimage to Santa Parascheva, in Iasi, which should have started today, has been canceled. The Metropolitan Church of Moldova and Bucovina told the City Council on Wednesday night that it was resigning from all events.

This year, the day of Santa Parascheva will be marked only by the service celebrated on October 14.

At the same time, the local authorities have established that access to the courtyard of the Cathedral is only by bulletin.

Even those living in other locations in Iași County are no longer able to enter the courtyard of the Iași Metropolitan Cathedral.

Therefore, only those who live in Iasi are allowed access.

At the entrance of the cathedral courtyard, there are gendarmes who verify the identity documents of those who wish to enter. At the same time, there are priests, gendarmes and volunteers in the courtyard, but there are no people waiting in line and no organized groups have arrived, reports the Digi24 correspondent in Iași.

Today, a new meeting of the County Committee for Emergency Situations is scheduled in Iasi to see if the access based on the newsletter will continue until October 5.

The feast of Saint Parascheva will no longer be organized between October 8 and 15, but will be limited to the Holy Mass on October 14, the Metropolitan Church of Moldova and Bucovina announced on Wednesday.
