The election of Nicusor Dan to the Capital City Council was definitively validated. The Bucharest Court of Appeal rejected the 52 appeals filed by former or current PSD councilors.
The decision of the Court of Appeals was made because the appeals were filed after the legal deadline.
The mayor-elect of the Capital announced last week that the inauguration of his mandate will be delayed at least one more week, after 52 appeals were presented in court. She accuses Gabriela Firea, the current mayor, of having her subordinates sign these resources without her signing them.
Dan also said that the 52 appeals are copied one after another, including grammatical errors. Yesterday, Dan said the callers are former or current PSD councilors.
“I notice the cowardice of Gabriela Firea who made her subordinates sign these appeals and they did not sign herself, if she really wants to challenge the result of the election,” he continued.
Nicușor Dan accuses that one of the reasons for the delay in the change of administration is the “interest octopus” of the capital city council.
“That’s why they put things off, that these people cover things they did, that they issue documents to regularize certain things they did,” he said.
