The Lebanese capital was the scene of a new explosion on Friday night, two months after the one that destroyed the port of Beirut. A fuel tank located in a densely populated neighborhood exploded. At least four people have died as a result of the explosion, many others have been injured. The explosion was so violent that it caused extensive damage to nearby buildings.

The tank full of diesel was used by a bakery.

The incident comes two months after the devastating explosion in the port of Beirut. On August 4, 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate leapt into the air after an accidental fire. As a result of the explosion, more than 190 people died and another 6,000 were injured.
