The Minister of Health, Nelu Tătaru, announced that after June 1, a national test will be carried out for Covid-19. Its objective will be to verify the immunization of the population and the evolution of the epidemic in our country. National tests will be conducted in collaboration with the World Health Organization, and the campaign will take into account outbreaks.

The Minister of Health announced that the tests could be serological or molecular. Serological tests are especially relevant after the epidemic, for evaluating the seroprevalence of infection in the general population and asymptomatic infections, as well as for evaluating the persistence of natural immunity after infection. However, molecular tests are the only ones that can make an accurate diagnosis of infection with the SARS Cov-2 virus.
