The Mayor General of the Capital, Gabriela Firea, assures that the elections in Bucharest were fraudulent, finding “many irregularities”.
Thus, she publicly requested a vote count, stating that she is willing to go to court if her request is not accepted by the Central Electoral Office.
“It must. If we do not want to be ashamed of our citizens. If we want to appear before the citizens as honest people, who respect the law, all measures must be taken. If we get the count right, if we succeed in court … Because it is, However, the vote of the citizens is constitutional and it is not normal to raise so many suspicions. And, I repeat, if it is a fraud, as we believe, at least bring it to light. If not, let’s say that there were some human errors and I do not believe They changed the hierarchy anyway, I accepted the vote anyway, you know, I packed my office stuff, said goodbye to all the collaborators.“- said Firea in front of PSD Bucharest headquarters.
It is claimed that the Government, as the organizer of the local elections, may decide to count the votes in Bucharest, even if the legal term has expired for submitting such a request.
“If this NLP government, which organized the elections, wants to raise the suspicion that the elections were rigged in Bucharest, then it will not find a solution voluntarily. Even if we are not on time, it is the will of the organizer, which is why the Romanian Government decide and announce the vote count in Bucharest, in the six sectors. It is the will of the organizer. We did not file the appeal because, even here it was a difficulty, all these minutes were uploaded very late and it was quite difficult for us to get there. (…) The Government can say, through the Prime Minister or the Minister of the Interior, that the vote count in Bucharest begins now, after the announcement of the results.“Explained Firea, at the PSD headquarters.
He added that the members of the PSD leadership agree with the proposal to count the votes in Bucharest.
“I spoke late last night with President Ciolacu, Secretary General Paul Stanescu, Mr. Grindeanu and Professor Dîncu, we all agree that when there is such clear evidence in all sectors that there are inaccuracies and problems serious, even criminal in some of them, with what happened in these elections, of course they have no way of opposing the evidence, the government is left to decide whether or not it wants to slap democracy or wants to show that In Romania, elections are organized free and independent and the vote of the citizens is important.“Gabriela Firea said.
Before this statement, he wrote on Facebook that the elections in Bucharest were rigged.
“The elections in Bucharest were rigged! Says Orban, the gravedigger of the NLP, Plicuşor, Dog’s friend. We also found many irregularities! Why is the vote count not approved?” Firea wrote on Facebook on Wednesday.
At the same time, the PSD candidate for Mayor of Sector 1 for a new term, Dan Tudorache, went to the Electoral Table of Sector 1 along with several supporters, demanding the counting of votes in all electoral colleges of this administrative area- territorial.
