After three years without competition, it is extremely difficult to return to the current level in the world of gymnastics, and she, who had this injury and three operations, did not imagine that she would have been able to return to this level ”- confessed Nadia Comăneci, on Sunday at night, on Digi24.

“For gymnastics and tennis, I wake up at night, because it was quite early in her competition, and I promised to wake up to see her,” said Nadia Comăneci.

Nadia Comăneci also had words of praise for the junior team, which she has high hopes for, highlighting their potential and the fact that “the alphabet works.”

“It is a beautiful platform, not only do I mean Larisa, but I also look at the evolution of junior girls. Many years have passed since we saw young people so young in our country and with great potential. Their base is very good. I understand that where these girls come from is someone who teaches them gymnastics correctly, the alphabet works. Of course, these juniors also come from the necessary sponsorship and investment we have to make at a sports level. Nothing happens overnight. (…) These juniors are still raw, but they have potential ”, commented Nadia Comăneci.

At the Mersin European Championships, Romania won 14 medals, five in senior and nine in junior, of which eight were gold.

Larisa Iordache won four medals, of which two gold, in beam and ground, and two silver, with the team and in jumping, after a three-year break due to health problems.

Junior gymnast Ana Bărbosu won all the final gold medals on the machines on Sunday at the European Championships in Mersin. Andreea Preda won the bronze on the beam and Maria Ceplinschi the silver on the ground.
