More than 2,600 new COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours. The number of patients in intensive care remains high

In Romania, 2,644 new COVID-19 infections have been recorded in the last 24 hours, out of more than 31,000 tests. 958 patients remain hospitalized for intensive care. 65 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours.

The number of cases is declining compared to yesterday, when more than 3,000 infections were confirmed, for the first time since January 28.

Two counties remain on the red stage: Maramureș and Timiș.

To date, on February 11 in Romania, 755,126 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus have been confirmed and 701,283 patients have been declared cured.

On the other hand, so far 19,200 people diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

In the last 24 hours, 65 deaths (40 men and 25 women) were reported, of some patients infected by the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Buzău, Cluj, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Gorj, Harghita, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Mureș, Sălaj, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age category 30 to 39 years, 1 death in the age category 40 to 49 years, 5 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 15 deaths in the age category age 60 to 69 years, 16 deaths in the age group 70 to 79 years and 27 deaths in the category of over 80 years.

All deaths were in patients with comorbidities.

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7,089. Of these, 958 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 5,661,319 RT-PCR tests and 186,660 rapid antigen tests have been processed nationwide. In the last 24 hours, 24,745 RT-PCR tests were performed (15,184 based on case definition and medical protocol and 9,561 on request) and 6,900 rapid antigen tests.

In Romanian territory, 39,405 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated at home and 10,190 people are in institutionalized isolation. In addition, 60,420 people are in home quarantine and 150 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
