To date, on May 13, in Romania, 16,002 cases of people infected with the COVID-19 virus (coronavirus) have been confirmed. Of the confirmed positive people, 7,961 were declared cured and graduated.
Since the last information sent by the Strategic Communication Group, another 224 new cases of disease have been registered.
To date, 277,804 tests have been processed across the country.

A further 6 deaths were recorded among Covid-19 patients. The death toll reached 1,016. The last victims were between 23 and 92 years old.
The 23-year-old patient was from Bihor and suffered from pemphigus vulgaris in treatment with immunosuppressants, Cushing’s syndrome, obesity.

Death 1004: Woman, 77, Covasna County. Confirmation date: 11.05.202. Date of death: 12.05.2020. Comorbidities: hypertension, COPD, grade I obesity.
Death 1005: Female, 84 years old, Mures County. Beneficiary home for the elderly. Confirmation date: 01.05.2020. Date of death: 12.05.2020. Comorbidities: hypertension, type II diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, Alzheimer’s dementia
Death 1006: Male, 77, Cluj County. Confirmation date: 25.04.2020. Date of death: 12.05.2020. Comorbidities: atrial fibrillation, hypertension, CIC, type II diabetes.
Death 1007: Woman, 90 years old, Prahova County. Confirmation date: 12.04.2020. Date of death: 12.05.2020. Comorbidities: heart disease.

The Minister of Health, Nelu Tătaru, announced that after June 1, a national test will be carried out for Covid-19. Its objective will be to verify the immunization of the population and the evolution of the epidemic in our country. National tests will be carried out in collaboration with the World Health Organization, and the campaign will take into account outbreaks.
