Monica Bârlădeanu, the bad girl of “Vlad”, a real fairy actually: “I am a volunteer, I buy for several families”

  • Click !: Carla, your “Vlad” character, had a 180 degree comeback in the series. How did you find out that the lovely Carla is changing camp?

Monica Bârlădeanu: It is not as difficult as you imagine, that I have passed the phase in which I want to play only “good girls”, to ensure the love of the spectators. No one is absolutely good or absolutely bad, all the characters operate in a gray area, in a more or less light tone. Characters who have reprehensible actions in a story are generally more tender from an acting standpoint, and this is what I saw in Carla’s repositioning this season.

  • You are good friends with the actors of the series “Vlad”. But who did you get closer with during this period?

I am very close to Vicky Răileanu, who, in addition to that, Carla “tortured” her a little this season (Smile). But I do not think there is any distance between anyone in this series, we have a group of whats’app, where we write daily, starting from nothing, images, with what we cook or various small riots against this period of arrest at home.

  • You are an active woman, how is this period when you have to stay at home?

I did not stay exclusively at home, because I am a volunteer in the church I go to and took care of a few needy families, with many children. I buy them in bulk from time to time and drop them off at the door, after which I call them from the car to get out and pick them up. Then I had some activity. And this time I also learned what it’s like to shop for a family of 11!

  • Who do you spend your time with?

Lots of people on the phone (Laugh)! I’m serious, I’m on video calls all day with my mother, friends in Los Angeles or just a few blocks away.

  • Do you keep in touch with friends, family?

Obviously. We also do family counseling on a multiple call. (Smile)

  • What hobbies do you have? How do you make the weather more pleasant?

During this period I learned to cook everything I liked as a child, under the supervision of my mother in the video call. From the mashed potato soup, which in our country is called diresala, to the stuffed peppers on an empty stomach (delicious foaaarte), the thyme soup and the spongy donuts. That for the rest of the “delicacy” there are recipes on the net.

  • What do you miss from the world you knew?

I miss the set. It is difficult without that.

  • Have your events, contracts, vacations been canceled during this period?

Like everyone in this country or everywhere, of course. But we survived.

  • What do you want for the next period?

Decrease the number of deaths due to this damn virus. Who doesn’t want that …?
