The Social Democrats know that from the position of winner of the elections they can claim the position of prime minister, and from the position of leader of the opposition they would consolidate the party, with one condition: that Víctor Ponta’s party loses its entrance to Parliament.
Social Democratic sources told HotNews.ro that, according to the latest internal PSD polls, they would be 2 percentage points ahead of PNL. The PSD’s advantage at the polls lies in the margin of error and it is not a guarantee that the party will win more seats than the PNL. The party leadership will communicate to the leaders of the territory the message that the PSD has a great chance of winning the elections if there is a mobilization of the left-wing electorate.
