Former Ponta government spokesman Mirel Palada was sentenced on Friday to nine months in prison, postponing his sentence, for the crime of “coup or other violence” after he beat USR Senator Mihai Goţiu in 2017. , on television B1. During the supervision period, Palada must comply with the following supervision measures:

- b) receive visits from the designated parole counselor with his or her supervision;
- c) announce, in advance, the change of residence and any trip that exceeds 5 days, as well as the return;
- d) communicate the job change;
- e) communicate information and documents capable of allowing control of their means of subsistence.
The sentence is not final and can be appealed.
In September 2017, Mirel Palada hit USR Senator Mihai Goțiu in the face during the publicity break for the program to which they were invited. The following day, the USR senator filed a criminal complaint for outrage against Mirel Palada. In May 2020, Mihai Goțiu announced that he had received the communication about the start of the trial with Mirel Palada.
