The increase in pensions made by the PNL covers the needs of the elderly and that any other statement from the opposition only gives hope to pensioners, declared Violeta Alexandru on Saturday night.
The Minister of Labor and Social Protection also stated that “we are in a difficult year, so any statement such as that there is money somewhere and he keeps it hidden in a drawer from Minister Alexandru or Minister Cîţu only generates hope for the people” . but they have no foundation in reality. “
“So we were determined to make this increase, as no European country has made it difficult this year. Our determination was to make this increase which is 5 times the inflation rate and which covers the needs of the elderly. The liberal government is a government based on control and efficiency ”, declared Violeta Alexandru on România TV.
The fate of pensions, decided by the RCC
The Romanian Constitutional Court (CCR) will decide the fate of Romanian pensioners on November 25, when it will discuss the government’s notifications on the budget rectification project approved by Parliament. The proposed form belongs to the PSD and also includes the pension increase by 40%. The executive challenged the two bills adopted by the Legislature.
The amendments to the PSD bills adopted by the Legislature stipulate that pensions would increase by 40%. In fact, there are several changes that will take huge sums of money to honor them.
The amendment proposed and adopted by the PSD parliamentary group states:
„The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is authorized to supplement with the amount of 67,000 thousand lei commitment credits, respectively 45,000 thousand lei budget credits, Chapter 80.01 – General economic, commercial and labor actions, Title 55 – Other transfers, Art .01 par. .05 – Program for the implementation of the National Growth System against Hail and Precipitation, by reducing the amount of 67,000 thousand lei commitment credits, respectively 45,000 thousand budget credits of Chapter 83.01 – Agriculture, forestry, fish farming and hunting, Title 80 – Loans, article 30 – Other loans ”.
Parliament voted on September 22 to increase pensions by 40%.
However, the government increased pensions by 14% in September.
On September 1, the pension point reached the value of 1,875 lei, down from 1,442. The governors increased the pension point only by 14%, not by 40% as originally provided by the law of the Social Democrats.
In fact, the previous document foresaw several changes. We are talking about increasing the minimum social allowance for retirees. The increase was also made with 14% and to go from 704 lei to 800 lei.
