Representatives of Metrorex had a meeting with the Police and then it was decided that in emergency situations, passengers will no longer have access to the metro.

Metrorex informs that, in the context of the evolution of the risk of disease with COVID 19, but also of medical emergencies registered on 10/07/2020, 10/09/2020, a meeting was held at the Metrorex headquarters attended by representatives of the Public Transport Police Brigade, those of the Metro Police, the metro security companies, as well as the representatives of Metrorex.
During the meeting, the existing mode of action was evaluated, as follows:
a) It operates daily, in shifts, with 24 police officers, 12 mixed police / gendarmes teams, with two civilian teams;
-Daily, on average, there were approx. 50-60 situations in which various sanctions were applied in accordance with legal provisions;
b) Considering the evolution of the Covid 19 pandemic, measures were taken to supplement the number of gendarmes;
c) 320 security guards operate daily in the 63 train stations and subway stations, including 10 mobile patrols;
Compared to the emergency situations recorded, ISUB-IF is taking measures to hold meetings to clarify its intervention procedures, ”the statement reads.
A possible collaboration with the Local Police
Likewise, the possibilities regarding collaboration with the Local Police at the Bucharest level were discussed, and a meeting will be requested, related to their possibilities to support the subway entrances, in emergency situations.
