Mayor Robert Negoiță changes the red curbs in the Sector, also placed by him since 2014 and until 2-3 years ago. The mayor now says they were an unfortunate solution, they have run down and look horrible. The mayor says the new curbs are produced by one of the mayor’s offices and will last for decades.

“We changed them because it was an unfortunate solution and because they look horrible. In life we still make mistakes. And now we have a much more pleasant, sustainable and environmentally friendly solution. The old ones look very bad, they are degraded. However, the oldest are between 7 and 8 years old. Many were injured. They were rehabilitated while they were under warranty, then I left them like that. I don’t like the way it looks anymore. We come with a new generation, “Robert Negoiță told HotNews.ro.

The mayor says that he will not change them in the whole sector, and the prices are not high because they are produced by the City Council company, which has a paving factory.

“We do not necessarily change them throughout the Sector, but where we have to change it, we change with this option. We will not invest a lot of money, because we produce them in our company. It only costs us concrete and labor. We only buy cement. These that we put are like resistance very close to granite. The design was done by architects. And granite curbs have a problem. We made the new ones in such a way that the asphalt pavers would miss them and ruin them. This is the main problem with the granite ones, they move, ours are much more stable, and when the asphalt changes they are touched with the milling cutter and destroyed. We made an edge that would last, if I hit them with the cutter it would destroy the cutter. I believe that the new decades will last, they are of a different quality, they are made in the laboratory, they are not poured on site, I tested them in freeze-thaw in the laboratory and in the field. I switched to physicists last fall. Go see how it looks, “said Robert Negoiță.

The Sector 3 City Council launched an announcement in the electronic public procurement system expressing its desire to conclude a 2-year framework agreement, for an amount of 766,700 lei for the purchase of boards. The deadline for submitting offers ended on March 15.

There are 4 types of concrete curbs, including red curbs:

  • Small concrete curb – 9,000 ml; The edge has the following dimensions: Length: 500 mm. Width: 195 mm. Thickness: 250mm, gray color;
  • Large concrete curb B6 – 15,000 ml; The edge has the following dimensions: Length: 500 mm. Width: 100mm. Thickness: 150mm, gray color;
  • Red border – 10,000 pieces; The edge has the following dimensions: Length: 500 mm. Width: 200 mm. Thickness: 300mm
  • Curved red border – 5,000 pieces; The border has the following dimensions: Length: 195 mm (small base), 273 (large base), Width: 200 mm. Thickness: 300mm.

However, the mayor says that the boards that have been / will be placed in the Sector are from the City Council company.

How Mayor Robert Negoiță explained in 2014 why he put the famous red borders:

“Why did I replace the curbs with diaphragms? Why are they so high? Why are they colored? ” These are the questions I receive about modernization work in the sector. We also replaced the curbs that demarcated the squares and that had deteriorated over time, leaving the mud from the green area to drain onto the road, and with the help of diaphragms we will prevent drivers from parking in the green space. ” With these diaphragms we also delimit the main alleys of the green space between the blocks. Fences without a solid concrete foundation and often bent and rusted, mud easily trickled down alleys. To avoid all the situations described above, the diaphragms had to be high, otherwise they would have been ineffective and easily overlooked by drivers.Also, these diaphragms are made of concrete, which is the most durable. t construction material, so they will have a very long useful life, ”explained Negoiță.

He was of the opinion that regardless of the color chosen, there would still be criticism.

“I had to choose between putting the usual gray concrete and these colored diaphragms, which would bring more dynamism to the Sector 3 look. I know that whatever color I would have chosen together with the team of architects I consult with, it would have been voices. But no It bothers me, it even helps me write or send me photos with works that the execution seems to leave undesirable, so I can request that the work be revised and possibly redone. Understanding the plan correctly or executing the work incorrectly, will support your restoration of your own pocket ”, also said the mayor of sector 3.
