DNA sued a third person in connection with the COVID-19 acquisitions on Wednesday. The first two were Unifarm bosses, director Adrian Ionel and Maria Radu, former head of the company’s commercial department.

The third is Parliamentary Councilor Adrian Gal, leader of the ALDE diaspora and former Deputy Mayor of Câmpia Turzii.

Prosecutors claim that Gal demanded 600,000 lei from a company representative, making him understand that he could intervene in Unifarm and the company to win a contract related to the COVID-19 team.

In the DNA version, Gal received 371,000 lei of the amount and another 69,940 lei in goods.

The defendant allegedly used the professional and interpersonal relationships that he developed over the years in public office, in order to create the impression that he can influence decisions made at the level of certain public institutions.

However, this is not the first time that Gal’s name has appeared in the files of prosecutors at the National Anti-Corruption Directorate.

The GSP / Libertatea research team wrote about Gal in 2016, amid a series of revelations in the case of the former manager of the Malaxa Hospital in Bucharest, Florin Secureanu.

Gal was a close relative of Secureanu and had shown him “an SIE card”, as newspaper sources would say.

He had met the manager with several influential people, including a close friend of Sorin Oprescu, former SIE agent Ionu I Milodin (1996-1997).

The ties between the two peaked in 2011-2012, when Gal ran for local elections in Câmpia Turzii on behalf of the Conservative Party.

He accompanied Secureanu on an American tour, in New York and Miami, “on the Masonic chain”, as GSP sources mention.

Then, the manager would have supported, through donations, Gal’s electoral campaign, also being present in pre-electoral actions in the municipality.

Gal lost the election in the end. As happened this year, when only the third (18%) came out, still collecting 1,532 votes. Yet less than half compared to winner Dorin-Niculae Lojigan (NLP), 3,877.

Secureanu was also sued by DNA this fall in the second case.

The OTV blackmail case

Another episode in which Gal intervened for Florin Secureanu would have occurred 8 years ago, when the manager of Malaxa would have addressed several people after learning that the television director Dan Diaconescu is preparing a series of revelations from the hospital. state.

According to DNA, Gal was one of those who facilitated the transfer of money from Secureanu to the head of OTV. Let “Uncle Dan” leave the manager alone.

And this is what happened: instead of some revelations, the television network would have made a laudatory video, for a sum that amounted to 15,000 euros.

The case was allegedly closed by prosecutors in 2014, but in 2015 they ordered the extension of the criminal investigation against the television producer for blackmail.

Secureanu also benefited from the DNA delay

Also on the list is actor Florin Petrescu, known as “Axinte” from Vacanța Mare, who would have appeared alongside Dan Diaconescu. Earlier this year, reporters were heard saying he was a suspect.

“I helped Secureanu meet with Diaconescu and sponsor OTV,” Axinte said in February 2020.

But Gal and Secureanu’s case has so far not been tried.

Well, the DNA prosecutors took four years to conclude another Secureanu case, in which two of the three facts were exposed, with documents, by journalists since 2016. Among them are materials in Secureanu’s villa. paid for by the hospital and family operations, carried out at the Monza private clinic, with public money from the Malaxa hospital, run by Secureanu.
