The PSD leadership has shot dead three top PSD leaders. Marian Oprișan and Viorica Dăncilă were replaced as presidents of organizations and Niculae Bădălău resigned from PSD Giurgiu. Social Democratic sources told HotNews.ro that Marcel Ciolacu demanded the resignation of Oprișan due to poor results in local elections. He allegedly refused and the leadership of the National Council removed him by vote.

According to the sources cited, Oprișan refused to resign. He alleged that the result obtained by the Vrancea organization is the same as in the 2016 elections.

Ciolacu would not have accepted Oprișan’s explanation and proposed to remove him from office. Ciolacu will provide the interim at PSD Vrancea.

Also by vote, it was decided to replace Viorica Dăncilă as head of the PSD women’s organization. The interim will be provided by Doina Feodorovici.

At the same time, Niculae Bădălau resigned from the leadership of PSD Giurgiu. He was appointed vice president of the Audit Authority of the Court of Accounts.

The leadership of PSD Giurgiu will be assumed by Bădălău’s son-in-law, Marian Mina.

The Social Democrats analyzed the result of the local elections at the meeting of the National Council. Marcel Ciolacu wanted to kill Marian Oprișan, who wants to stand in the parliamentary elections for senator.

According to the sources cited, Ciolacu would support Cristian Misailă at the head of PSD Vrancea, which won the Focșani City Council for the second time. As for Oprișan’s desire to run for a parliamentary seat, it has little chance of materializing because Ciolacu intends to introduce rules and criteria for the PSD list in parliamentary elections.
