PSD president Marcel Ciolacu held a press conference on Thursday after a meeting with farmers’ representatives. Ciolacu announced the presentation of a simple motion against the Minister of Agriculture, Adrián Oros, whom he accuses of “being in a parallel world.” During the announcement, several bills came out of the inside pocket of the PSD president’s jacket.

“Look, that means transparency,” Ciolacu wrote. The message was accompanied by several emojis with smiles and a photo with the message “We support Romanian capitalism!”
“I have only drawn one conclusion, Mr. Oros is in a world parallel to what is happening in this field. No action has been taken, no compensation has been given so far for the drought, no special tax has been paid, 60% of last year’s total, and last but not least, we saw that he came up with an initiative to reform the Law 17 on land alienation, ”said Marcel Ciolacu.
The president of the PSD announced that the simple motion will be presented next week to the Chamber of Deputies.
“We have decided to present a simple motion, next week, against Minister Oros, in the Chamber of Deputies. The danger to Romania’s food security at the moment is real. We no longer produce pesticides, fertilizers or seeds. No action is taken in this area, we do not try to promote Romanian and local products. We do not see a coherent program from the Ministry of Agriculture. We can no longer afford this inability of the government to handle one of the biggest problems, ”Ciolacu also declared.
