The president of the PSD, Marcel Ciolacu, welcomes this Wednesday, in a message on Facebook, the “constructive speech” of the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, on the State of the Union.

I welcome the constructive speech by Mrs Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, on the state of the Union. New European ambitions in terms of digitization, sustainable development, foreign action and economic and social consolidation are welcome if we want a better future for Romanians in Europe ”, writes Marcel Ciolacu.

PSD chairman says von der Leyen’s message are “central references” in PSD messages in recent months.

“The references to improving the standard of living are even fundamental to our message in recent months.

The Social Democratic Party strongly supports:

– protect European employees, creating a European minimum wage and a decent income for those who work;

– a balanced digital transformation, reducing the discrepancies between urban and rural areas, but also between European regions;

– the development of some industrial production capacities and of European innovation which, in our opinion, can help the development of Romania if we had a government with vision;

– the creation of new European competences in the field of health and the financing of medical infrastructure projects at European level ”, also writes the president of PSD.

Ciolacu criticizes the government and says that the “new PSD” aims to become the party that brought Romania to the EU.

Unfortunately, the current rulers have ignored this important moment that will guide European action in the next period. Once again, the Liberals showed their true faces. They claimed to be interested in Europe, but their lack of reaction means that Romania matters too little in Europe. The new PSD aspires to become the party that brought Romania to the EU, so together with our MEPs we will act consistently and actively to build a social and united Europe ”, concludes the message of the PSD president.
