Border police on Galati Highway discovered at border control an electric SUV made in 2020 that was declared stolen from Germany.

“On November 14 of this year, around 12.00 hours, the Gala Roadi Road Border Crossing – ITPF Iași, presented for the control procedures necessary to cross the border, the Bulgarian citizen MM, 48, at the wheel of an Audi E-Tron brand car, registered in Germany, year of manufacture 2020.

As there were suspicions about the legal situation of the car in question, the border guards carried out additional checks. After exchanging information with the German police, our colleagues found that the car was declared stolen, as of 11/14/2020, ”according to a statement from the Border Police.

The man at the wheel stated that he is not the owner of the car, but only provided its transportation and has no knowledge that it was stolen or involved in any litigation.

Border Police officers are conducting the investigations in question for the crime of theft, and the car, a purely electric SUV, valued at 486,900 lei (100,000 euros), was detained to continue the investigations.
