Romania registers a new record of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 in the last day: 4,848. There are 69 deaths and 766 patients in intensive care. Prime Minister Ludovic Orban had a first reaction:
“The measure that requires wearing a mask in open and closed spaces must be respected. Education has gone online and here the interaction between students and teachers is reduced. We also decided to close some activities where there is a risk of spreading the virus: restaurants, cafes, cinemas , theaters. I am convinced that these measures will generate effects and we will stop the spread of the virus, “said Ludovic Orban.
“The opinion we have and the evaluations we have are that the growth rate of the number of infected people will decrease. In general, we analyze the data on a weekly basis, we do not analyze the day to day, because there is not a certain rhythmicity regarding the presentation by the DSP of the reports (…) We are closely monitoring the evolution in each region, in each locality and we have all the measures that we have thought to reduce the risk of contagion ”, added Orban.

The Prime Minister added that the Government is considering a new tender procedure for the purchase of protective masks for disadvantaged people.
Regarding the organization of the parliamentary elections on the fixed date, Ludovic Orban reiterated that “they do not represent an additional risk of spreading the virus”, if the measures and regulations imposed are observed.
