Prime Minister Ludovic Orban said on Saturday that the elections and the election campaign will not cause an increase in the number of infected people. The prime minister also said that the elections should be organized so that people like Iordache and Weber do not end up in charge of some institutions. If the candidates follow the rules, there is no risk of increasing the spread of the virus. Parliamentary elections are needed, I urge people to ask the question: do you still want Renate Weber to chair the Ombudsman’s Office? If we do not hold elections, Renate Weber will remain in charge of the Ombudsman’s Office and will continue to be responsible for the referrals to the Constitutional Court that have caused a dramatic increase in the number of infections. Do they still want people like Florin Iordache to become the head of state institutions? If they don’t want people like Florin Iordache to run state institutions, elections are needed. Do they still want the PSD to track the economy, invent new and new normative acts that will lead Romania to bankruptcy and the economic abyss? If they don’t want to, then elections are needed. Ludovic Orban also said that elections are being organized during this period and in other countries, the best example being the presidential elections in the United States of America.
“Elections were held in all European countries, whether they were presidential, parliamentary or local elections, they were held on time. In the United States, although the United States faces the highest number of infections, presidential elections are being held, because that means democracy, it means the power of the citizen to decide the future of Romania. Every 4 years, the citizen transfers the power he has to the representative body to lead Romania in the direction that the citizen wants to take. Today, the PSD is leading Romania in a direction contrary to the will that exists in Romanian society today, ”Ludovic Orban specified.
