This time it was the turn of Vlad Teohari, one of the signatories of the letter started by Senator Mihai Goțiu, last year, which was signed by more than 100 usristos, which demanded last year’s purge campaign. The focus had been sparked by the exclusion of Olimpia Ardelean, a core USR member, as a result of a post in which she reported wrongdoing within the Ilfov County organization.
The USR National Office annulled Vlad Teohari’s candidacy for one of the Diaspora seats, citing a negative opinion from the USR Arbitration Commission. The latter appreciated that Teohari had damaged the party’s image through the actions he has taken in the past.
It should be noted that, in light of the evidence administered in the present case, when signing a public letter, a letter that was presented in the national press, along with other people, the candidate Vlad-Mihai Teohari, on the one hand, criticized an internal decision of USR, and on the other hand he expressed a public position, precisely against an internal decision ”, is shown in the document of the Arbitration Commission.
The announcement about the invalidity of Vlad Teohari’s candidacy was made by Olimpia Ardelean, herself excluded from the party, last year, due to the disputes she had with the team led by Dan Barna. She said the vote to invalidate Teohari’s candidacy was at the 13-12 limit.
“You should be ashamed of it! It is extremely unfair to Vlad. From what I understood, tomorrow (Tuesday – n.red.) The lists of Diaspora candidates were due to be submitted. The day before it was invalidated. Not at all. Because he signed an open letter ”Olimpia Ardelean wrote in a post on Facebook.
He expressed his fear that other signatories to Goțiu’s letter, in which USR’s irregularities are denounced, may be left on the timeline, including Ana Ciceală, Florina Presadă, Vlad Alexandrescu, Mihai Goţiu, Dumitru Dobrev , Daniel Seidler, Tudor Benga or Stelian Ion.
USR issued a statement showing how the candidate nomination process works for the parliamentary elections. The statement is a response after the appearance in the public space of the information on the invalidity of Vlad Teohari’s candidacy in the parliamentary elections.
USR representatives affirm that the subsidiaries decide who will run, but the National Office can invalidate proposals coming from the territory for reasons of opportunity, and the Arbitration Commission for reasons of integrity.
“The branches of the USR have the most difficult word on the list of county representatives in Parliament. As a first step, each branch is assigned a number of delegates in proportion to the score obtained in the last national elections. (… ) After this stage, the party’s national forums can only validate or invalidate the elections made by the powers that be ”, the press release shows.
