Health regulations remain in effect even if the number of infections has entered a downward slope, the Strategic Communication Group said in a statement. Thus, private parties, traveling in groups of more than 6 people or leaving the house after 11pm are still prohibited.
The number of weekly cases has almost halved in the last month, according to GCS data, which shows that “at this time the evolution of the spread of the SARS-COV-2 virus is on a visibly downward slope.”
Of about 60,000 people recently infected a week ago, fewer than 35,000 cases were reported a week ago.
GCS transmits that the maintenance of the downward evolution can only be done by respecting the sanitary regulations, which remain in force during the winter holidays:
- It is forbidden to transfer people in groups of more than six people who are not part of the same family;
- It is forbidden to organize and participate in private events (festive meals, parties, etc.);
- It is forbidden to move citizens out of the home between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. throughout the country, except for motivated situations provided for by law, and in quarantined localities the movement of people is allowed with the restrictions established by local emergency committees ;
- The use of a protective mask is mandatory both in open and closed spaces.
And President Klaus Iohannis told Romanians, on Thursday, on Christmas Eve, to respect the current regulations regarding the fight against the coronavirus epidemic, if they do not want to go to the hospital on vacation. The president specified that no new holiday restrictions will be introduced: “It’s not fun!”
