President Klaus Iohannis told a press conference Tuesday that hosting a Christmas fair in the midst of a pandemic is “impossible and inappropriate.”

“In my opinion, organizing a Christmas fair in the middle of a pandemic, when we still have almost 10,000 new cases every day, seems impossible and inappropriate to me. (…) Yes, these Christmas fairs, this year, certainly cannot be organized ”, said the head of state at the Cotroceni Palace.

He specified that parties cannot be organized and probably no excursions for the holidays.

“The holidays will take place, like every year, because they are our holidays.
