The dispute between Rapid and Dunărea Călărași should have been a playoff final, but it turned out to be the most drastic failure in Cristi Pustai’s tenure. Calarasi’s mistakes on goals were downright funny and started early:

• minute 2: López deflected a ball into his own goal that was parallel to the baseline.
• 19 minutes: Bogdan Șandru, one of the Danube’s most experienced footballers, fumbled on the edge of the area. Rareș Ilie passed on to Adrian Bălan, who completed a formality.
