That is why we needed a public proposal from us, from Dan Barna, to unlock the negotiations. Basically, Dan Barna said: “I personally don’t have a position, it could be someone else, let’s all show that we don’t have a position, let’s share power in this coalition, so we can make a stable government.
It is not a question of lack of consultation. It is a proposal that we made open to others, due to delays and rumors that worried us a lot, that is, that we could arrive on December 21 without any agreement.

A PNL-USR-PLUS-UDMR coalition is what Romania needs now. If the NLP had all the political power, that is, the prime minister and the president of the Chamber of Deputies, that would not be a stable solution. It would lead to a government reorganization in 6 months. There would be tensions in the coalition.
We were not expecting Orban’s new proposal for prime minister. He barely resigned himself and said he was taking a step back. The question is “how long ago?” Is the presidency of the Chamber of Deputies a step backward or a step forward? We wanted to test this theory, if you are willing to step back from both the office of prime minister and the office of president of the Chamber of Deputies.
