In the preamble of Decision No. 57 of December 7 of the National Committee for Emergency Situations, it is shown that the decision was made taking into account the evolution of the epidemiological situation in Romania to this date, as well as the request of the Ministry of Education and Research, reports Digi24. The decision was approved with the signature of the president of the CNSU, Prime Minister Ludovic Orban, before his resignation.
The online school runs throughout the country until December 23, that is, until the winter holidays, according to a decision of the National Committee on Emergency Situations adopted on Monday, December 7 and signed by Ludovic Orban.
The decision was made at the request of the Ministry of Education, addressed to the CNSU on Monday, December 7, 2020, and is motivated by the epidemiological situation, which continues to put pressure on the medical system.
Online school lasts until Christmas
“Considering the evolution of the epidemiological situation in Romania until December 7, 2020, (…), taking into account the increase in the number of infected people at the national level, as well as the daily increase in the number of new confirmed cases, poor implementation of prevention, intense interaction and mobility of people, aspects that generate constant pressure on the management capacity of the administrative-territorial units and the health system (…) the extension of the suspension of activities that require the physical presence of preschoolers and students in online teaching schools, for the period from December 9 to 23, 2020 ”, is shown in the text of the CNSU decision.
As of November 9, by order of the Minister, teaching activities that require the physical presence of preschoolers and students from pre-school, primary, secondary, high school and post-secondary education units were suspended for a period of 30 days.
The Ministry of Education and Research announced two weeks ago that it will analyze and establish ways to continue activities in pre-university education, depending on the evolution of the epidemiological situation that generated the decision to suspend courses and according to the decisions of the National Committee on Situations. Emergency.
Winter break begins December 23, 2020 and ends in January 10, 2021.
