The head of DSU, Raed Arafat, was officially summoned by the Gornet City Council to pay the amount of 1,000 lei, as court costs. This is after the HCCJ decided on August 13 that the quarantine measure of the town was abusively ordered.
„Rejects the objections of inadmissibility and nullity of the appeal filed by the defendant, the Department of Emergency Situations, invoked by the appellant-plaintiff, the Territorial Administrative Unit, Comuna Gornet. The appeal declared by the defendant by the Department of Emergency Situations against civil judgment No. 694 of August 4, 2020, pronounced by the Bucharest Court of Appeal – Section VIII of the administrative and fiscal contention, is dismissed as unfounded.

Take note of the waiver of the appeal filed by the plaintiff, Territorial Administrative Unit of the Gornet Commune. It obliges the recurrent-defendant Department of Emergency Situations to pay the amount of 1,000 lei, with application of art. 451 subsection 2 of the Code of Civil Procedure, which represents the legal costs in charge of the appellant-plaintiff Comuna Gornet Territorial Administration Unit. Final. Dictated in a public hearing today, August 13, 2020 ”, established the ICCJ judges.
The mayor of Gornet, Bogdan Dumitru, says that he will demand compensation of one million euros, within a separate process.
