Klaus Iohannis stated that people have the right to know in advance what restrictions they should prepare for and the fact that Bucharest was going to enter the red stage, after exceeding the threshold of 3 infections per thousand inhabitants was obvious.

“It is incomprehensible that although we have seen a daily increase in the number of cases, at the capital level there was not a coherent, clearly communicated plan for the population to be prepared. The attitude of the prefect of the Capital and the way he reacted are unacceptable and should not be left without consequences, ”said the head of state.

Bucharest has exceeded the incidence rate of 3 per thousand, which implies, according to current legislation, the adoption of several restrictions, including the suspension of classes in schools.

In the capital, the use of a mask will be mandatory in all public spaces, starting on Tuesday, at 0:00.

questions:

Pro TV News: Should people stay in houses or close restaurants in Bucharest too?

Klaus Iohannis: The situation calls for additional measures in Bucharest. Obviously, if the pandemic does not cease, then the experts will come with additional recommendations, but now these measures that have been decided are the necessary ones.

B1 TV: What will happen to the parliamentary elections? Marcel Ciolacu announced that he wants the parties to be summoned to consultations in Cotroceni

Klaus Iohannis: The elections have been fixed by law and will take place on December 6.

Digi24.ro: The President of the European Parliament has warned that the European budget is now blocked. When would we receive the first European money?

Klaus Iohannis: These issues have been discussed, currently the negotiations are going a bit more difficult, I encouraged everyone to come together and seek solutions, it would be a shame to waste time and not get these funds. I think things will go further, the budget will be approved and in the normal version in 2021 we will enter the new budget and we will be able to use this European money.

TVR: Should the prefect of the Capital be fired?

Klaus Iohannis: Things cannot continue like this, people have the right to be warned, to be taken seriously and to receive timely information so that they can prepare. The fact that local authorities are tasked with implementing the measures also implies an obligation to inform the public in a timely manner about what is likely to happen.

Antena 3: Can you still bear what is happening in education?

Klaus Iohannis: The whole society has been involved in pandemic chaos and, obviously, the schools. It is clear that good measures have been taken, but mistakes have also been made. I do not think we should exaggerate with these assessments that everything is chaotic, in most schools things are well planned

Radio Romania: Could we ask for European support given the shortage of doctors and nurses?

Klaus Iohannis: I think Romanian doctors are very good and so far they have managed very, very well. We have a promotion of young doctors at the moment who are interested in entering the front line, I am convinced that in the near future we will have a number of young doctors who will also be involved in these departments. I think we can handle the situation more. A few months ago our doctors went elsewhere and helped there and made a very good impression.

News from Diaspora.ro: Why was the mandatory mask not imposed earlier?

Klaus Iohannis: That was the recommendation of the experts

Antena 1: Who is to blame for the deficiencies?

Klaus Iohannis: The government is working on these issues, things will work out. This pandemic has taken us completely by surprise. When the pandemic appeared in our country, Romania’s reserves in this field were nil, as left by the PSD government. Since then we have been managing the pandemic and all the areas where there should be a reserve. In education, the procurement procedures started quite early, for various reasons, things were not completed but will be resolved.

Digi 24: There are students who do not have access to education, they do not have tablets or electricity. Who should be responsible for making up this lost month at the end of the school year?

Klaus Iohannis: I don’t think we should look for culprits, but solutions. We are talking about a catastrophe, not some administrative details and what we are doing is preventing a lost generation. For those who do not have access, solutions are sought for each one. The problem is huge and contains many more facets than in one school or another, perhaps not all students received the material to participate in the online school. I really want to be able to say that at the end of the school year we have equipped the schools, that the students have access to the online school.

Kanal D: Are the parties the main cause of the increase in cases?

Klaus Iohannis: Certainly these parties, especially the larger weddings, baptisms, where the wearing of the mask was not observed, contributed significantly to the spread of the disease.

Agerpres: Is a reform of the ICR necessary?

Klaus Iohannis: Now we have to deal with the laws of justice for the first time. We all could see that a modernization of the constitution was needed. We have had situations that did not have simple constitutional solutions, some for nothing, I remind you of the early elections. Certainly, when the constitution is modernized, it is necessary to modernize the chapter that refers to the ICR.

G4media.ro: People who have nothing to do with the energy field have been appointed to lead Romgaz. As you comment

Klaus Iohannis: I will inform the government and you will receive a response through the press office

Reality Plus: Is it being discussed at European level that Romania will lose European money if pensions are increased by 40%?

Klaus Iohannis: The risk exists, everyone expects precautionary measures from Romania, responsible budgetary action. The economic crisis is a fact, consumption has fallen, budget revenues have fallen, it is obvious that certain expenses must be made: hospitals, doctors, student tablets, but many expenses can be postponed until the situation improves. If this is not the case, we will certainly enter a special procedure with a decreasing rating and the Commission will read the treaties very carefully to see in which area we can be framed and held accountable.

Should emergency committees meet first?

Klaus Iohannis: It was very easy to predict that Bucharest will enter stage 3. It was obvious that the number of infections will increase and the authorities have the obligation in time to go to a conference and explain: you see that it is possible to enter stage three, then we will wear a mask and students will stay home. Something like this, nothing fancy, but common sense communications

The truth: PNL offered an eligible spot for Viorel Ilie, a former minister in the PSD government. Is your anti-PSD message still credible if NLP promotes such characters?

Klaus Iohannis: My message was the message of the politician and president Klaus Iohannis and it remains the same. I promised you the draft is over and it’s over. There were no more recruits, there was no more cooperation and that is a fact. I said, I warned, that things stopped when necessary. Later, you can surely find out in NLP how the lists were made, the candidates are members of NLP.

The Epoch Times: Could the Iasi Events Be Part of a Hybrid War?

Klaus Iohannis: I don’t think it is part of a hybrid war, everyone had to participate in the conditions set by the government, with a mask, from a distance, and the authorities have to enforce the measures and whoever does not comply will be fined. If there have been other one-off approaches, then there will be people who will be held accountable.

Freedom: DSP did not report nosocomial infections in the Covid deaths. The government reports fewer nosocomial infections than the Ponta government

Klaus Iohannis: I will ask the MS for information on nosocomial infections. It seems strange to me at least, given that improvement measures have been taken, but from what I had to zero there is a long way to go and I will ask for an explanation for that.

DW: France has called for an end to dependence on American weapons.

Klaus Iohannis: Romania has a very strong strategic partnership with the US Romania spends 2% of GDP on defense. Yes, there are actors in Europe who want to build an EU strategy and I agree perfectly, it is a good thing, but the European and NATO approaches must complement each other, not replace each other. For me, the first and most important thing is the security of Romania.
