“It was my last fight. I will not come here without my father. When the UFC called me about the fight with Justin, I spoke with my mother for 3 days. I didn’t want me to go fight without my father, but I promised him it would be my last fight. Thanks Justin, I know a lot about you, I know you help your people. Being close to your parents, you don’t know what can happen tomorrow“Khabib stated.

Immediately after Khabib’s victory, footballer Cristiano Ronaldo reacted on social media. The Portuguese posted a photo with Khabib, along with the message “Congratulations brother! Your father is proud of you.”
Khabib’s father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, died in July this year at the age of 57 after being infected with COVID-19. Abdulmanap was close to his son in the 28 games Khabib played before he died.
