Joe Biden’s first reaction, after various media channels designated him as the winner of the November 3 presidential election, came on Twitter and was as weighted as the former vice president’s public statements in recent days.
“America, I am honored that you have chosen me to lead our great country,” were Joe Biden’s first words, in a slightly ironic allusion to Donald Trump’s favorite expression.
“Hard work awaits us, but I promise you this: I will be the president of all Americans, whether they vote for me or not.” I will live up to the trust they have placed in me, ”wrote Joe Biden on Twitter.
All of his public messages in recent days have focused on the idea of reconciliation and national unity, on the promise that he will be an impartial president who will represent all Americans. It is a style that stands in stark contrast to that of current President Donald Trump, who has polarized American society.
