Recently, DNA announced that the former mayor of Sector 1, Dan Tudorache, is criminally accused and placed under judicial control in two cases of influence peddling, but also money laundering, through his ex-wife, Adina Tudorache, and the family’s housekeeper. Among other facts withheld by prosecutors, it is established that the former mayor also owns shares in a football club. And it is well known that Tudorache has been one of Rapid’s big supporters in recent years.

Sources close to the club from Giulești assure that Tudorache was even behind the purchase of the club’s album, which was sold in June 2018, for 406,800 euros plus VAT. But not with the naked eye, but through intermediaries like his ex-wife. Although, officially, it is known that the record was taken by the main shareholder, Víctor Angelescu.
Additionally, Tudorache was allegedly represented in Rapid by the club’s attorney, Andrei Nicolescu, vice president of the Board of Directors, who had numerous contracts with the City Council. He has admitted in the past that he has also invested in this project. The same sources affirm that among the investors, since the IV League, there was, in fact, Tudorache. Later, the former mayor brought in Rapid’s new sponsor, Liviu Goncea, the so-called “Kia millionaire.”

Right now, Rapid shareholders look like this: Victor Angelescu – 49%, Liviu Goncea – 48%, Academia Rapid – 3%. Behind the last entity, however, there would also be Angelescu, Nicolescu and Burcă. And other sources assure that “recently Liviu Goncea wanted to sell her shares for two million euros. He was a buyer, but he only offered 900,000 euros and the business failed. It is by no means excluded that Tudorache is associated with Goncea in this share package. They are friends and Goncea has been their councilor in the City Council since 2016 ”.

Prosecutors also claim that in all of his 2008-2018 wealth declarations, Daniel Tudorache completed only the salary column as mayor, 605,782 lei in total. That is 1,000 euros a month. He did not report any other money, property or other assets. Prosecutors accuse him of opening accounts in the name of his wife or housekeeper and spilling hundreds of thousands of euros of illegally obtained money.
What the prosecutors found
- deposit sums of money in cash, through the ex-wife and the housekeeper, in bank accounts opened in her name: 2,990,000 lei and 235,000 euros
- the purchase of a property in the name of the ex-wife: 305,000 euros and 470,000 lei
- granting a loan to a person, also in cash: 920,000 euros, through his ex-wife
- purchase of jewelry: ring – 58,500 euros, jewelry set – 64,225 euros, diamond ring – 80,000 euros, a diamond of 190,000 euros, ring – 65,000 euros, jewelry set – 11,200 euros, etc.
- shares in a soccer club, through his ex-wife
- joint venture with a private company with 640,000 euros, also through the ex-wife
