Interior Minister Marcel Vela says the declaration under his own responsibility can be maintained as of May 16, when Romania is on alert. Travel between locations will not be allowed under any circumstances, Vela also announced, after the president initially announced that Romanians can go on vacation without restrictions.
“We are still discussing whether the declaration of our own responsibility will be necessary and under what conditions. It will be possible to leave the town under certain conditions, which will be specified in the decision of the National Committee for Emergency Situations,” Vela told Digi.
Marcel Vela says that fines will continue to be imposed, even if they have been declared illegal by the RCC.
“The measures will also have sanctions, based on the laws that sanction non-compliance with the measures introduced by the Emergency Situations Committee. Those who protect people’s health no longer have coercive tools.”said the minister.
