Today, in the Court of Olt, was the second period of the trial in which Gheorghe Dincă is tried, in secret session, for the murder of Alexandra Măceşanu and Luiza Melencu.
Dincă asked the court today to respect his right to defense and complained about the lawyer that the state offers ex officio.
In the courtroom, where the press has no access at the request of DIICOT, the next of kin of the victims were present today, but also the two defendants, brought into the box of the detainees of the Craiova Penitentiary.
Dincă and Risipiţeanu also wore masks, but also protective visors.
The prison lawyer called four times
“I have no way to defend myself,” Dincă complained to the judge immediately after the court hearing began.
He also submitted a written memorandum requesting that his right to defense be respected.
“The public defender did not come to speak to me at the penitentiary, he did not answer my phone and he did not look at the file,” said Gheorghe Dincă, who came to the courtroom.
Dincă’s lawyer admitted in court that he received four phone calls, but did not care because, he says, “they never answer hidden numbers.”
Dincă remains with the same public defender. The lawyer also specified that he could not study the file, because it was not in the files of the Olt Court, and that it was sent to the Craiova Court of Appeal, where the relocation request filed by the Melencu family was also judged.
The judge fined the lawyer 1,000 lei, but decided that he would continue to present Dincă’s defense, despite his request, which had requested that another public defender be assigned to him.
“Don’t set your own rules in the courtroom and if you want another lawyer, hire one,” the Dinca judge told him. Today’s hearing lasted less than an hour, and at the end of it, the court set a new deadline, for December 16, 2020, writes Libertatea.
