The elected mayor of the Capital in the September 27 elections, Nicușor Dan, reacted on Tuesday to the accusations of fraud that are imputed to the PSD of sector 1, where Clotilde Armand, from USR-PLUS and supported by PNL, is running.
“As I said on election night, all votes must be counted correctly so that the official results accurately reflect the will of the people of Bucharest. It is incredible that the PSD has tried to defraud the vote in Bucharest, even by falsifying the minutes. Such a thing must to be severely sanctioned and I am with my colleagues from NLP and USR PLUS, who request the counting of votes when there are suspicions of fraud, ”says Nicușor Dan, on his Facebook page.
I remind you that the PSD tried other methods to defraud the elections, including through the dissemination of publicity for the ‘achievements’ of the General City Council headed by Gabriela Firea, even on election day, even after the Municipal Electoral Directorate found the illegality of this type of advertising. PSD should know that stealing is not allowed. And if you do, let them know that we won’t let them go unpunished! ”, Adds the elected mayor of the Capital.
The Chief of the Sector 1 Police, Chief Commissioner Ionuţ Dana, announced on Tuesday that a man was captured 473 minutes after Sunday’s local elections and that the man was registered on the electoral list of a political party under the title of local councilors.
„Next, we carry out investigations through the 4th Police Station, under the coordination of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Court of First Instance, for the offense set forth in art. 391 on the falsification of electoral documents and records, “stated Ionuţ Dana.
Clotilde Armand MEP, candidate for Mayor of Sector 1, announced on Tuesday that she will request the Attorney General’s Office to take over the investigation of the situation at the Electoral Table of Sector 1.
The mayor of Sector 1, Daniel Tudorache, accused the USR representatives of pressuring the sector’s electoral office and said that the person who left the BES Sector 1 with minutes was actually a messenger. He also stated that he submitted a request for a vote recount.
Cristian Băcanu, the candidate supported by PNL and USR PLUS for the post of mayor of Sector 5, announced this Monday night that he will request the vote recount, claiming that “it is necessary to verify the existence of massive fraud in Sector 5” . On Tuesday morning, he said he would file a criminal complaint after identifying “suspected fraud” in local elections in the sector.
