Anca Baciu is 24 years old and, since Sunday night, has been the youngest elected mayor in the country. Over the next four years, she will lead the Corbi town hall in Arge elig, where she will replace her father. She will change the office furniture, because she does not like her father’s furniture, and she wants to develop the commune from the tourist point of view, only in one term. Because in Anca Baciu’s opinion, a mayor must hold office for a maximum of two terms. Then she leaves the place to another, with a different philosophy, with a different vision.
Since Sunday night, this town of Argeș has what no one else in the country has: a 24-year-old mayor. His father, the incumbent mayor, left the Corbi City Council and ran for mayor of the Arge Condado County Council. However, his eldest daughter entered the mayoral race: a member of PMP, until yesterday passionate about dolls, cartoons and children’s series.

Virgil Baciu – incumbent mayor, Corbi, Argeş: Yes, she is my father’s daughter, but this time she was my father’s son.

Virgil Baciu: To some extent he is also my help and it is clear that he was my help. But they convinced more than me, you know.

For now, the mayor-elect in Corbi plans to change the furniture in her father’s office.
Anca Baciu: I will probably change it completely. Or, I don’t know, at least in part! Thinking that somehow I have to make him feel like a pleasant environment for me. And that matters a lot. It is clear that if I don’t feel well, things will not work out!
Beyond the furniture, the young mayor wants to transform the commune into a seaside resort with a seasonal theater.
Anca Baciu: What I would like to do here, to feel that it is my project in which I am going to get involved from beginning to end, it would be a summer theater!

Anca Baciu: Being located in the same place where the Stone Bird scene is. I mean, more precisely, in that place.
For three years, Corbi has hosted the largest rock festival in rural Romania. They found a place for him on a hill and called it the Stone Bird Festival. Dave Evans, the first vocal soloist for the band AC / DC, sang here. So did David L. Reece of Accept and many others.
Anca Baciu: Unfortunately, the pandemic did not allow us to do this event this year. But we hope that next year we will be able to come back here to Stonebird with strength, where a lot of people meet, people of quality, beautiful people. People have realized that more accommodation is needed here and here the idea of a resort comes up again. The more accommodations we have, the faster we can turn this place into a tourist center.
Passionate about the stories of Ispirescu, the Grimm brothers and others, Mayor Anca also wanted to show us the petrified giant of the commune that is preparing to lead.
Anca Baciu: Here it is, in a way, its sole. The leg, the pelvis, the torso come in, and this is where the head should be. The head that fell. And it is there … divided!
Between giants and rockers, the future mayor wants a stadium. She is sure that a team of footballers can make room for Corbi.
Anca Baciu: I will also make a girls’ team, a soccer team. How would it be? I think that would be a good idea. I would cheer up the girls a bit too!
Anca Baciu has a different philosophy about the position and the mayoralty:
Anca Baciu: If I realize that in these four years, in the first legislature, I managed to achieve all the objectives that I set for myself, I will probably let someone else come in my place. Because it is natural and normal for people to have experiences with other people.
Virgil Baciu, the incumbent mayor and father of the girl, did not win the presidency of the Diputación. He will resume his personal affairs. Instead, for the guys who like the elected mayor of Corbi, he has a message.
