The new Parliament will have 465 parliamentarians, of which 448 are from the five parties that crossed the electoral threshold. PSD will have 157 seats, PNL 134 and USR-Plus 80 seats.
HotNews.ro shows how the mandates of deputies and senators are distributed in each region of the country, in the Capital and in the Diaspora, according to simulations on the latest results published by the AEP.
However, mandate redistribution also produces some curious results. USR-Plus, for example, does not win the majority of seats in the two counties in the country where it won the vote. In Timiș, PSD came in third place, but takes the majority of senatorial terms.
- PSD: 157 seats (110 deputies, 47 senators)
- NLP: 134 seats (93 deputies, 41 senators)
- USR-PLUS: 80 seats (55 deputies, 25 senators)
- GOLD: 47 seats (33 deputies, 14 senators)
- UDMR: 30 seats (21 deputies, 9 senators)
- minorities: 17 deputies

In the first phase, mandates are assigned directly at the county level. Since there are few situations in which a party has exactly the number of votes only for full seats, a series of “scraps” of votes remain that enter the second phase of distribution by counties.
However, the redistribution procedure can also lead to some at least curious situations. He also wrote in detail about how the redistribution system works: Free Europe.
For example, after the redistribution phase, according to the simulation based on the latest figures from the AEP, the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) party would receive a mandate in … Covasna, county where the score obtained by the party was 2.84%.
Another strange situation is found in the two counties where USR-Plus won the vote: Timiș () and Brașov (26.79%).
In Timiș, USR-Plus came in first place, followed by PNL and PSD in third place. However, USR-Plus (3 deputies + 1 senator) will not have the majority of seats in this county, but PNL (4 deputies + 1 senator). In addition, PSD will have the most senators: 2 senators, although he came out in third place.
In Brasov, USR-Plus (27%) and PNL (26%) will each have 3 deputies and a senator, and PSD (20%, third) will receive 2 deputies and 2 senators. So equal seats between the three parties.
Similarly, in Teleorman PSD won 42% and NLP 2 with 39%. In the total number of seats, PNL comes out first with 3 deputies and a senator, while PSD takes 2 deputies and a senator.
How would the allocation of seats change if Valeriu Nicolae, just 17 votes away, entered Parliament?
