In the last 24 hours there were 808 new cases of COVID-19, out of only 6,348 tests performed. Another 23 deaths were reported due to coronavirus infections. 464 coronavirus patients are admitted to intensive care.

To date, on September 21, in Romania, 113,589 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

90,649 patients were declared cured.

Following nationwide testing, compared to the last report, 808 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were recorded, cases that had not previously had a positive test.

Aside from the newly confirmed cases, after retesting patients who were already positive, 232 people were positively reconfirmed.

To date, 4,458 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

Between 20.09.2020 (10:00) – 21.09.2020 (10:00) there were 23 deaths (12 men and 11 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Arad, Bacău, Buzău, Caraș- Severin, Dolj, Giurgiu, Gorj, Hunedoara, Olt, Prahova, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Vaslui and Bucharest.

Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age category 30 to 39 years, 3 deaths were recorded in the age category 40 to 49 years, 3 deaths in the category 50 to 59 years, 4 deaths in the category of age 60-69 years, 7 deaths in the age category 70 to 79 years and 5 deaths in the category over 80 years.

22 of the deaths registered are of some patients who presented comorbidities and so far no comorbidities have been reported for a deceased patient.

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7,240. Of these, 464 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 2,231,402 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 6,348 were performed in the last 24 hours, 4,264 according to case definition and medical protocol and 2,084 on request.

Likewise, since the last information made by GCS, the results of 1,592 tests processed before the last 24 hours and delivered until September 21 have been reported.

In Romania, 11,228 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home and 6,829 people are in institutional isolation. In addition, 33,810 people are quarantined at home, and there are 7 people in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 611 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law No. 55 of 05.15.2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 826 penalties for minor offenses, in the amount of 209,350 lei.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where infractions to health protection regulations can be notified.

The calls are answered by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 6,612 Romanian citizens were infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,917 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 2,935 in Germany, 159 in Great Britain, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the US, 112 in Austria, 20 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 19 in Greece , 5 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Republic of the Congo, Hungary and Qatar.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic until now, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of the Congo and one in Greece, have died.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 338 were declared cured: 308 in Germany, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
