Numerous changes related to the activity of your business will take effect on January 1, 2021, reports Mediafax.

Among other things, the changes are related to tax inspections, the VAT regime or the single return filed by people with income from independent activities.

As of the first day of next year, the reduced VAT rate of 5% will be applied to homes with a higher price. Specifically, the maximum limit up to which the reduced VAT rate is applied will increase from 450,000 lei to 140,000 euros (approximately 680,000 lei).

Also in terms of VAT, the ceiling for the application of the VAT collection system will double as of January 1.

In 2021, employees will be able to receive a new type of financial assistance from the employer, tax-exempt, that of adoptions.

On the other hand, employers will not owe taxes to the state, starting with January earnings, for the costs of telecommuting and for the costs of epidemiological tests and vaccines.

For the AFPs and other self-employed and self-employed, the deadline for submitting the sole declaration will be May 25, instead of March 15. At the same time, May 25 will be the deadline for paying income-related taxes this year.
