A man was shot by police after multiple teams followed him into traffic and tried to stop him. He wanted to crash into the police teams, who fired at the car after several warning shots.
According to local media, the 37-year-old man died.
During the chase, the man behind the wheel of a Mazda with foreign numbers lost control of the wheel and entered a ditch on the left side of the road. That was after the car skidded about 30-40 meters.
Witnesses say the police then got out of their cars and fired multiple shots at the car they were chasing, according to Monitorul de Botoșani.
According to a police statement, the man, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, did not stop before the police summons.
“Three police teams in the field, within the city of Flămânzi (Botoșani county), tried to intercept the car in traffic, but the driver tried to collide with the trucks, the impact was avoided at the last minute by the police.
It followed, the warning lights shot vertically and subsequently towards the car tires.
As a result of the shooting, the driver was injured and the car left the road into a ditch, on the side of the road ”, transmits the County Police Inspection.
Later, the police asked the medical personnel who came to the scene for help. The man was resurrected, but unfortunately he could not be saved and lost his life.
