USR leader Dan Barna told Digi24 that he is satisfied with the result obtained in the parliamentary elections. He referred to several supporters demanding his resignation and said that he is a fighter and that he will not give up.

“From the moment I entered politics, I stopped fearing for a decision.

I am a fighter, I will not give up, last night’s result confirms for us that we are the necessary modernizing force in the modernization of Romania.

I will do my best to keep USR PLUS in the best position for the next four years.

We wanted a better result, but we doubled the number of parliamentarians, which shows that we are on the right track. The reform message is necessary and must be maintained.

We will look at this result, which puts USR PLUS in a position to be a partner for governance, ”said Dan Barna.

Several USR members and supporters wrote messages on USR leader Dan Barna’s Facebook page when he posted his remarks Sunday night. Barna is asked to resign from the position of president of the party.

Ionuț Moșteanu, a USR PLUS spokesperson, told Digi24 on Sunday night that he is confident that a reformist right-wing majority can be formed which, he admits, will not be as strong as he would have liked.

Regarding the voices demanding the resignation of Dan Barna to the leadership of USR PLUS, Moșteanu stressed that the USR is a party with an internal democracy very different from other political formations, with a convulsed life, in which colleagues express their opinion. “We will do an analysis,” Moșteanu said, highlighting the merits of Dan Barna, who led the match to a double score compared to 2016.
