The Romanian Prime Minister stated that he hopes the CCR will not declare a unconstitutional state of emergency because it would endanger the lives of Romanians. Ludovic Orban also spoke again about the Court’s decision on fines. The head of government says that what the CCR has done is an exhortation to disobey the Constitution and the rules.

“If the CCR declares a state of unconstitutional alert, we will issue a new regulation that will give us the necessary tools to defend the life and health of Romanian citizens. I don’t think we can accept what the RCC and the so-called Ombudsman are doing. It is inadmissible that such a thing has not happened in any country in Europe, that is, that the authorities lack the necessary tools to enforce the rules and laws, especially in the situation created by the coronavirus pandemic. CCR’s decision is an exhortation to disobey the Constitution, an instigation to disobey the law and disregard the rules. The Court’s decision endangers the lives and health of Romanians and shows that these people who have lost all connection with the reality of Romanian society want to help those who violate the law, a minority, and have little respect for those who they obey it. We cannot stand idly by, our main objective is to minimize the risk of spreading the virus, to protect the lives of Romanians.“The Prime Minister said.
