Prime Minister Florin Cîțu declared, this Monday, that he does not want to reach a situation in which the Capital is quarantined and stressed that he expects solutions from the mayors of sectors, with whom he will meet at noon. He said the opinions of the Ministry of Health are important, but that a decision will be made after all points of view have been heard.
“I wish we did not reach a quarantine situation in Bucharest. I listen to all the opinions of the specialists, we make the decisions after that. Florin Cîțu meets at 1:00 pm with Mayor General Nicușor Dan and with the mayors of the sectors.
At 4:00 p.m. he will have a videoconference with the prefects, and on Tuesday he will meet with the association of Provincial Councils and the Association of Municipalities.
Asked about the situation in Timisoara, the prime minister replied that he is waiting for solutions to see how the quarantine can be avoided, “perhaps with other measures.”
“The solutions must come from those who manage them,” concluded Florin Cîțu.
The infection rate in Bucharest is close to 6 per thousand, when it would be necessary to quarantine a town. Today there will be a meeting of the Municipal Committee for Emergency Situations, in the context in which, a day ago, the Minister of Health, Vlad Voiculescu, said that he does not exclude the entry into quarantine of the Capital.
At 2:00 p.m., a meeting will be held at the Ministry of Health to change the criteria for entry into quarantine, which will be attended by representatives of DSU, INSP and experts in public health.
Secretary of State Andreea Moldovan announced to Digi24 that, on Monday, the ministry will hold a meeting with specialists, in order to determine new criteria for the quarantine of localities.
“It just came to our attention then. Action must be taken as soon as possible. It is difficult for me to say a deadline, we have a meeting tomorrow. These measures will be made public, “Andreea Moldovan said.
The Secretary of State in the Ministry of Health said that the decision on the Capital will be based on indices that will be evaluated and a joint decision will be made.
