Two years after a young man from Brasov died waiting for a lung transplant, there are again protests for life in Romania. This time it is Ionuţ Anghel, from Focşani, who says he feels he is dying while waiting for the authorities to fulfill their duties to send him abroad for transplantation. He needs other lungs to breathe, his health is extremely serious and he cannot be saved at home.
In Focsani, dozens of people took to the streets, shocked by the tragic history of Ionut. He is 35 years old, has a 2-year-old son and a disease that suffocates him every day. Only a lung transplant can save you. It’s on the list of waiting for a year, but the operation cannot be performed in Romania.
Ionut Anghel: „I have a little more and I’m going. I feel like I’m dying. We had crisis situations the other day. I call the hospital, they tell me that they are afraid to hospitalize me, that they have Covid. I don’t know if I have another month, two, three … I hope to spend tonight, wake up tomorrow, that’s how I see the future.
For Ionut to have a chance to live, the Romanian authorities must sign an agreement with a transplant center.ant from abroad. In the last three years, three ministers have committed to doing so with centers in Hungary, France and now Italy.
Radu Zamfir, director of the National Transplant Agency: “AWe were waiting for a draft collaboration agreement from the Italian agency during the current week. For these patients, we hope that the reform of Law 95 will also help. An organ in compensation, for performing the transplant in centers outside the country ”.
Ionuţ Anghel has been hearing such promises for a long time, but in the meantime his health is deteriorating.

Ionut struggles to breathe every second and doesn’t know how much longer it will be able to do so. He has been feeling worse and worse for a month. That is why dozens of people have protested for the right to life to be granted. He couldn’t go because he couldn’t They are strength. Along with dozens of people, however, was his wife, who learned to–take care of him.
Ionuț’s wife: “I am desperate, even for a fee, to leave, to know that he can live for the child, especially for the child, because when she sees him connecting to the oxygen cylinder, she screams: Dad, Dad! In an emergency I try to stabilize him, because it is critical for a few seconds, the ambulance may not even arrive, if I didn’t give him everything on time. “
