Cătălin Drulă, the Transport Minister, announced on Friday that he had filed a criminal complaint with DNA against those responsible for starting the subway protest. He made seven charges, from failing to fight disease to blackmail and rail traffic offenses.
“I just filed a criminal complaint with DNA against those responsible for the blockade of the Bucharest metro today, for the following crimes:
- failure to fight disease
- abuse of power
- influence peddling
- use the feature to favor other people
- The use of influence and authority by union leaders to obtain improper money, property and benefits.
- blackmail
- violations against traffic safety on railways
We ask the prosecutors to identify the people to turn to to get the money back in civil court. The damage is being quantified.
The illegal action of a mafia group to take a city hostage cannot be left without a firm response from the authorities and the judiciary.
The metro must be released and it must work again. Only then can a real dialogue be organized about the problems of the subway.
The fat accounts of the company controlled by Ion Rădoi are not a legitimate topic of dialogue and should not be fed by the state treasury, “Cătălin Drulă announced on Facebook on Friday.
Hundreds of trade unionists blocked the passage of subways on Friday morning, and threw public transport in the Capital into chaos from the early hours. Taken by surprise, the people of Bucharest had to find other means to go to work or school and kindergarten, with their children. Most of them huddled on public transportation. Meanwhile, images with clandestine protesters appeared.
