Two candidates, husband and wife, debutants in political life on the GOLD list, won a seat in the Chamber of Deputies, respectively Senate, after running in the same constituency -Constanta-, a premiere in Romanian politics, reports Agerpres.

After redistributing the votes accumulated by the parties that did not cross the electoral threshold, with the publication of the official results of the 2020 parliamentary elections, according to the provincial branch of the PNL Constanța, the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) accumulated the percentages Senator needed.

In this way, Evdochia Aelena was elected AUR senator for Constanța and thus offered the surprise of a family political premiere, in which her husband, Dănuț Aelena, was also elected AUR deputy for Constanța.

According to the final results, the National Liberal Party (PNL) won the parliamentary elections in the county of Constanza, obtaining more than 6,600 votes more than the Social Democratic Party (PSD) and AUR ranked fourth, after the USR, with the most votes than the Party. The Popular Movement and Pro Romania together, political formations that have not crossed the electoral threshold at the national level.
